We usually anchored up the Hampton River past the 29' Settlers Landing 
bridge, just beyond Hampton City Piers. Big wide open pond with plenty of 
water (6'+). The bridge prevents sailboats from joining you and crowding the 
anchorage. We were usually the only trawler in there, although one time we 
were rafted to another, and a third came in to anchor with us.

City pier allowed free access by dinghy and free showers, Enterprise Car 
Rental nearby. Expensive hotel with Happy Hour nearby. Free WiFi in the air.
