I have a fuel polish/transfer/prime system based on a venerable Walbro 6802
continuous duty diesel pump and a GCF F-1 filter. Was recently
troubleshooting a fuel flow problem involving my Floscans and and got to
thinking I need a spare pump. Looked at the Walbro info and the pump is
discontinued; replace by the FRB-13. Specs are very similar except the spec
sheet says: Pump cycles only when fuel is demanded. Anyone care to hazard a
guess as to what this means?
My current pump is plumbed in so it sucks fuel from the selected tank through
the F-1 and routes it to the correct tank fill fitting. Guess a basically zero
pressure on the output side would constitute "demand" but I don't know.
Regards.
