T&T: MSW inverter for refrigerator

I received several emails off list about my proposed test of the efficiency
of using a MSW inverter versus a true sine wave inverter to run my Sub-Zero
refrigerator (and freezer).

I have both type inverters on board and have been using the MSW for the
refrigerator for 10 years, however, I have wired the boat so that I can
shift to the true sine wave as a backup.

What I proposed to do is run the refrigerator both ways and measure the
watts used with a Kill a Watt meter. Don't know if this is a proper way to
compare the two inverters and I am open to suggestions.

I am away from the boat until January but when we launch her I will do the
tests and report to the list, unless someone else does this before then.
