T&T: GenSet loading (was Genset heresy an alternative)

Let me morph this thread even further.  I have a Link 20 that allows me to
monitor battery bank activity and an amp meter to monitor shore power/genset
loading.  Additionally I have an AC genset that has a Balmar 120A alternator
hung on it.  How do I calculate genset loading resulting from the alternator
usage?
