T&T: Holding tank indicators...

Jeff,

We have the same system which a couple of months ago began to exhibit the
same symptoms as yours. I removed the sensor pod, put it in a bucket with
white vinegar and a strong dose of Fantastik (or was it 409?) to soak for a
spell, then scrubbed, rinsed, let it soak in a similar solution, and
scrubbed some more. It came nice and clean with surprisingly little work
and began to operate like new again.

Perhaps the large flow of water into our holding tank from our very thirsty
Headhunter heads was one reason it went so quickly and easily, but the odor
from the tank was surprisingly mild and the, err, "debris" (for lack of a
better word) on the sensors was surprisingly light and easy to remove. The
plastic of the sensors helped--it's hard for anything to really stick to it.

My recommendation: try giving the the "fix it" route a choice before replacing
it! But YMMV.

P.S. As you probably know, Charleston City Marina has a great deal on staying
there Nov thru (I believe) March. It ain't Florida, but as you have no doubt
learned there's a lot to recommend spending time in Charleston. SNOB is just
one of them!

I have a TankWatch 4 system . . . Has anyone actually removed the old plunger
mechanism and replaced it? Did it fix the issues for a while longer?
