I was about to list the likes dislikes I have for my 1984 President 41, but you just about did it for me!
Our goals are very similar and our boats ended up similar, though mine has a queen up front and twins in the aft cabin.

I was looking for NA engines also, but ended up with twin Volvo turbos, much more power than most of the similar boats have.
I rarely run above hull speed, and the Volvo's have been great so far. And it is nice to be able to run 18 knots if there is a real need.

I love all the teak inside these CHB boats. 

The most important thing I'll be looking for in another boat if I buy another will be a cockpit.
