At one point I circulated a spreadsheet that calculated all the factors in
anchoring including windage, scope, anchor type, weight etc and came up with
what you would need in a variety of conditions up to and thur hurricane. I
don't know where it is now, but that was useful.
As for me I am very impressed by the Rocna and have one as my primary anchor
on my 32ft Downeast Flybridge Cruiser, weighs 14,000 pounds. My Rocna is
35lbs. I also have a 44lb pound supermax and a 25lb CQR that came with the
boat. Both the rocna and the supermax are penetrating anchors... given
enough action, they will go to china and sometimes if feels like it when you
have to jugger them up after a long anchorage in one spot. In those cases
it is not a bad idea to have a trip line on a small buoy.
best to all
