Good points Jeff.
I think that, if a particular anchor design is chosen, it is important to pick a size that is of an adequate size to do its job- wind speed, seas and bottom conditions. The discussion that I was referring to pertained to a specific design- the plow anchors.
The lightest weight anchor is not the primary concern; instead it is its ability to set, hold, and hopefully beable to reset, that is the important factors.
If the anchor is dragging it would appear that it is its size that is the factor that needs looking at, not its design. If a lighter weight anchor is desired, then a different design should be considered.
This thought seems to always get waylayed when the focus is only on weight.
