Hi Larry
The news is not as bad as it first appears.
The original London Earls Court Boat Show was moved, after 40 years, to a
much larger venue, London ExCel, and is at this time still programmed for
8th - 17th January 2010.
Last year an entrepreneur teamed up with a whisky distillery as main sponsor
and resurrected the Earls Court Boat Show in December (with some success) in
direct competition with the established London ExCel Boat Show. It was
thought that the nostalgia associated with the old Earls Court would draw in
the visitors.
The Southampton International Boat Show (September 2010) and the London
ExCel Boat Show look as if they will still go ahead. They both reported
reduced attendance but solid sales last year.
Regards
