T&T: Rear View Camera System - "Safety View Back up Camera"

I'd bet $$$ that the image in that monitor is nothing like real-life.
All licence plate cameras use wide-angle lenses for the obvious
reason, and they distort increasingly with distance. The image in the
promo photo is impossibly perfect.

I installed a quality camera with just a little more angle than a
normal lens atop the mast so I could see both corners of the boat for
backing. That's what I wanted and it works very well. However, if I
want to see what's coming up 1000 yards behind... not so much.

It really pays to think through what you want the system to do before
you commit.

 I can't share real life experience- yet. However my my brother in law
in in the security business and when I asked him about back up cameras
last winter, he sent me a Peak Safety View.
