T&T: shaft packing size

OK the deed is done. The box says 7/16 but the material is well shy of that,
but it worked just fine. so I conclude (only because it was not mentioned in
the thread a week ago) that the material is labeled for its intended gap,
not its actual size.

Also, it was impossible to get the 7/16 (actual dimension) hammered or
squeesed down to fit the gap, so I obtained the 'right stuff'.
