'Lo All,
Some time ago I posted about a backup camera similar to the one in
this address.

I wired it so I could leave it "On" continuously (not just when in
reverse) as I wanted it to increase aft visibility for our little RV.
After about 3 hours, it got so hot I could smell it. I tried to turn
it off, but the switch was immovable. When I tried to unplug the
power plug, I burned my hand on the almost-melted plastic (it had
melted sufficiently to deform the case).
Point being, be sure the unit is capable of being operated
continuously, not just intermittently, as when a car/truck/RV is in
reverse gear.
I made a successful rear view video system for the Celestial. That is
in the archives. It worked well for both rear view and engine
compartment viewing.
Take care and be safe.
