T&T: Adding Copper Tube to Seawater Strainer Basket

Hi everyone - I have?a question for the group.?I'm thinking of adding a small piece of copper tubing to the?seawater strainer basket?that's attached to my air conditioning unit. The idea is that since copper is?the active ingredient in bottom paint, that this might help to keep all the little creepy crawlies out of the system. The strainer basket is stainless steel.?Does that mean I could have an electrolysis problem ? The boat is in salt water in Florida.

Has anyone tried this and - if so - do you think it actually worked ?
