Steve,
We have a Link 1000 with the 500 amp shunt. It monitors a house bank
(also used for starting main engines) of twelve Trojan T-105's which
feeds a Xantrex Freedom 3000 inverter. The 500 amp shunt has been more
than sufficient in this application. I suppose if I tried to start
both engines simultaneously there might be an issue, but that will
never happen. The inverter has a 130 amp charger and I have 100 amp
alternators on each engine, so the shunt is also fine for the 300+
amps during the charging phase.
