Hello all:
None of this is new info, just a confirmation that it works well heading
North.
Jim, Su and Alex (the lazy cat) just made these runs
at our normal cruise speed 8 - 8.5 knots.
1- Leave Isle of Palms Marina (MM 458.3) 3 - 3.5 hours before high tide and
you will
enjoy a nice run with the current until MM - 415. With only a few short
(less than a mile)
opposing currents. Then slog 12 miles into Georgetown, SC (MM - 403)
2- Leave Georgetown, SC (MM-403) 2 hours before high tide
and you will have the current with you to Marina Grande Dunes (MM 357).
In each section we picked up 1.5 - 2.5 knots.
We averaged 9.33 knots on both runs. That makes me smile.
Palmetto Moon will be in Marina Grande Dunes for the month of April.
We will be in the up-state of SC doing tax and Dr. stuff
the first 2 weeks and then back to the boat.
