We have the same engine on our dinghy. Finally quit starting all together.
Turns out the carburetor needed to be cleaned. They're touchy about dirt,
varnish, old fuel, etc. Our broker's mechanic pulled it and soaked it
overnight (in what I don't know). Fired right up but still has a flat spot
at about 20-30% power. Will have it pulled again in a few weeks to have it
cleaned or replaced.

Have to run the fuel out of them if you're going to let it sit for any
length of time (month).

Hi Steve,

We are still having trouble starting our yamaha 15hp 4stroke.  Did you
have any success with filter?  We put one one but wondered
about your success as our seems minimal.  Any suggestions or help
would be greatly appreciated by Capt & wife!
