T&T: cell connectivity

I realize that this thread is more properly discussed on another forum but
this is the only one I know of that discusses stuff that works on a boat. I
have a 720 USB Verizon Aircard using it with a Cradlepoint router to supply
wifi on the boat and broadband connectivity for my desk top and laptop. I have
a 1400 minute per month voice program. Total is around $150/mo cell and
highspeed.internet.

Have a friend with an ATT program. He gets unlimited voice and txt on his ATT
$300 smart phone for $150/month. Don't know if he can hook his computer up to
the internet through his cell.

Just talked to Verizon and they have a Blackberry Curve which I can upgrade to
on the internet for $100. (my old phone's about shot). Cost me $30/mo for high
speed data and $30/mo for internet on the phone ( mandatory) and they have an
unlimited voice for $100/month. Says I can use the Blackberry as a high speed
modem on my computer for internet in lieu of my Aircard.

Please feel free to answer me off line to save bandwidth but is this true? For
roughly $10 more per month more than what I'm paying I can get unlimited
calling, Blackberry internet in my pocket and a highspeed modem for my
computer. Says I can plug the Blackberry into my cradlepoing just like the
aircard. Sounds too good to be true. Is it?

Oh, he says all new stuff comes with a 5 GB data limit and that I am on an
unlimited plan. Thought we went over this a few months ago and an unlimited. .
.wasn't but he swears it is.
