I have seen a poster in a dermatologist's office stating, and have read
elsewhere several times
"Research shows that approximately 80 percent of sun exposure and damage
occurs before the age of 18"
If this is so would it be true that over the next +-50 years of ones life
the remaining 20% of exposure is accumulated? at a rate of .4% per year! It
would seem there is not much we can do about it now?
I grew up in the Caribbean spent and lots of time at the beach and was
sunburned badly quite a few times, in those days skin cancer was not thought about
too much at least by the folks we knew, we did use plain old Coppertone
"Don't be a paleface", suntan lotion once in a while. Apart from some dry patches
which need the Liquid Nitrogen burn once in a while no problems I'll keep my
fingers crossed and keep sloping on the sunscreen!
maybe Sam has it right saying
"On that note, I'll crack a cold one, let the gen set run, slather on some
off-brand SPF 23.129, and enjoy the sunset tonight..."
