Hi All:
Rarely does one have occassion to bestow kuddos upon a manufacturer of marine
equipment but I am compelled to do so now.
I recently attended the San Diego Trawlerfest where a seminar on active
stabillization was presented by the Trac representative, Eric Folkestad. At
the end of this very informative, hour-long presentation, Eric mentioned that
his company would be holding a more in-depth presentation on hydraulics at
their headquarters in Northern California and that anyone wanting to attend
need only contact the factory to reserve a seat for the class for "captains
and engineers".
Pam and I both just completed this inaugural class in Northern California and
it was an outstanding experience. I can't say enough good things about
Arcturus Marine (Trac and American Bow Thruster). Our boat doesn't have Trac
equipment but the class presentation had relevance for any vessel using
hydraulics of any kind. (Our boat has Naiads). The 2-day, interactive class
was well presented and the hospitality extended to us by Arcturus Marine was
well above and beyond the call.
I would highly recommend anyone wanting to know more about hydraulic systems
on their vessels take the opportunity to attend one of these classes.
