T&T: wall covering paste/glue

When the interior paint on my 1988 Grand Banks 42 began looking shabby, I hired one of Fort Lauderdale's best wallpaper experts to cover the "Grand Banks beige" surfaces with vinyl wallpaper. After one false start with the wrong sizing and paste, he did a magnificent job and to my eye and the admiral's the bulkheads looked far better than with the original paint. The wallpaper was still in place with no air pockets or peeling or odors when I sold the boat five or six years later. I saw absolutely no downsides and would do it again in a heartbeat!

The secret is to get the right sizing/paste combination. A good wallpaper store or wallpaper expert should be able to help you with that, but I'd do a test on a small area before going at it whole-hog.

YMMV,

Considering covering a few of the painted areas in the cabin with a wall
covering. Vinyl backed wall paper with an embossd pattern is on the
Admiral's list . Looking for advice on self pasted or using some type of
improved paste for damp applications with traditional wall coverings.
