While not certified by the USCG as an anchor light, Fourwinds
advertises the 18 LED bulb as such. Here is the quote from their
website:
"This is a great product for use as a riding light or Anchor light as
it draws very little current from your battries while running all
night. It has a very bright white light with a blueish tint to it.
The life time of it is 50,000 hours and it operates from 10 VDC to
15VDC. This bulb comes in single or double contact. "

If you want to risk it, $20 is a pretty cheap price for an 18 LED
bulb. All Electronics (www.allelectronics.com) sells bare, high
intensity LEDs for about $1 each.
