Mark and others--

Yes, it has been discussed, several times and at great length.

As far as List Admin can tell, the majority of subscribers prefer the
plain-text, no-attachments email medium. As for the List Owner, he
loves the email format.

Thus, unless the vast number of subscribers have a change of heart,
don't expect to see a migration to a Web-based forum anytime soon.
But before you jump ship, read on.

>Aren't there alternatives to the basic listserv that we could migrate to

>take on a whole new level if images, spreadsheets, etc, could be attached.

In the past, Listees who had an attachment they wished to share could
do so easily by private email, or they could utilize any number of
websites designed specifically for displaying photos and so on.

So there is an option available closer to home, I'll shortly be
launching TrawlerCrawler.net as a sister site to
TrawlersAndTrawlering.com.

The Trawler Crawler site will provide a place to share photos, documents et al.

Trawler Crawler will also feature a Web-based version of the popular
Trawler Buy-Sell-Trade email list, mainly so photos can be easily
posted with for-sale messages.

There will also be a place for a general forum about trawlers and
trawlering for those would prefer to discuss their favorite topics in
a Web environment.

But T&T List and its sister lists will carry on as before in the
interactive email format. There are so many advantages to email that
it's hard to see why the lists would ever end.
