T&T: Am I a shoe-in?

I guess whenever I board another's boat, I'll start looking at what the
owner has on his feet and act accordingly.

To tell the truth, I never gave much thought to whether I should remove my
BOAT shoes when boarding any boat - after all, I am always wearing
appropriate footwear. The things are made to keep me upright on wet or
slippery decks. Taking them off to end up in SOCKS on a strange boat where
the interior decks could end up being those slippery teak and holly wonders
seems nothing short of stupid. If I gotta take my shoes off, I'm taking my
socks off too, and quite frankly, I'd rather have you in your shoes and not
spreading your athlete's foot around when you come aboard my boat or suing
me for a ruined life because of a bad fall.
