Hey Gil,

He was using a Silver/Silver-Chloride probe.  You measure the current flow
between the bonding system and the probe, with a Multi-Meter.  Oh, make sure
its a Fluke Multi-Meter becasuse the are designed in Washington State and we
only build good crap here.  Ask Boeing.

You can get the probe just about anywhere, I use to use one on my Camano to
make sure the various parts were all still connected to the bonding system.
If you get different readings from different place on the boat then your
bonding system is not effective.  I also use to use that zinc fish that
hangs over the side.  It's slightly less noble than the zincs on the boat
and it goes first.  I would much rather replace that fish than the boat
zincs.
