T&T: Taking dogs to shore

[I have a dinghy with an outboard but am looking for something primarily
to take the puppies to shore when anchored and do not want to launch the
dinghy.]


With deck real estate so precious on any trawler, it seems like a  
marginal idea to have a second inflatable or kayak just for the dog.  
Being a dog lover myself, I'd like to ask those who cruise with four- 
legged family members:  What is the most convenient dinghy/davit  
configuration for frequent trips to shore (while still being  
seaworthy when underway)?
