Hi Chuck!
I've used a cheap household "cool only" thermostat in several places on my
boat to run muffin fans for years, with no failures. Just go to a heat and
air supplier and pick one up. Usually about $15. (My first one was $6 and
has been in the compartment with my inverter for 8 years and is still
working fine, but they have gone up!) I leave mine at 90 degrees, which is
the highest setting, and have had good results.
The last one I bought is made by "Columbus Electric. Part no. 5227802 "
