T&T: Phones in the Bahamas (roaming charges, MagicJack)

I just got my Verizon cellphone bill. I racked up 31 minutes of cellphone
usage while in the Bahamas for a week. Almost $62 in roaming charges. Needless
to say I didn't do any negotiating ahead of time with Bahama TelCo to prevent
this.

However I did take along my Magicjack (www.magicjack.com) and a cheap
telephone. Almost 3 hours usage between the 3 of us for free. This is a great
device for phoning home while out of country. (no pony in this race.)
