T&T: Anchor Rode Swivels

Saw, what to us, is a good idea, when we Googled "Wasi Swivels". Instead of connecting the swivel to the anchor, connect the swivel to a short length of chain (12 - 18 inches, it looks like), the chain then being attached to the anchor; the opposite end of the swivel attached to the rode.

As stated in Wasi's web page, this arrangement increases the odds of averting bending/side loads on the swivel. It sounds like a reasonable idea to me.

This addresses the problem that I have been dwelling on for a long time, namely, even with a swivel installed correctly, it is still possible for circumstances to contrive to bind up the swivel, preventing it from remaining in-line with the pull of the rode.

Yes, I know, it has been stated several times that a swivel is a weak link in the ground tackle system, as is any unnecessary piece of hardware, but if a swivel is necessary, or desired, then this idea sounds like a good one. I only wish that I had thought of it.
