Thanks for the many responses on this thread. (More are welcome.)
I just talked to the factory customer service rep. They say Fastcure 3M5200 
is their recommended adhesive. This seems contra to several posters advice.

They advise against davit fittings because someone in the past did this with 
resulting damage to the boat which the owner claimed against them. The 
result is these people sell a boat named a Watertender that they don't 
recommend for mounting in the most common dinghy position!
