T&T: Registration - Florida or elswhere - how big is the

indeed a few years back, after i bought my boat and got the documentation, I 
received two letters from FL DOR asking for proof of tax payment...  mailed 
them the paperwork from the broker and that was it, altough i had to do it 
twice...

FL DOR supposedly has inspectors walking the docks and checking with 
marinas, as well as checking draw bridge logs.

speaking of which, I saw a report somewhere (Dockwalk I think) mentioning 
that the new florida extension will only be granted upon requests and with a 
fee of as much as a couple of hundred $...    didn't see official 
confirmation of that though...
