Garmin, Garmin, or Garmin...
they have the best designed user interface... never need to open manual!
Great charts too. On my boat I have a 2006C on the FB which i connect to a
laptop at the lower helm. two station for the price of one...
FWIW, I'm not a big fan of furunos... Radar? great... plotters? no way!
We have 2 of their large displays on the boat i run and they are buggy,
quirky, and clumsy. I HATE those darn C-maps... not enough details. For
instance, they dont' show the nav aid numbers on the chart, you have to
select the aid with the trackball and go thru 2 menus... plain dumb. Took
me a long time to figure out how to show the color of the navaids as well..
default is purple. whether it's a red or green. That option is buried in a
4th level menu and called somethign real obscure.
Now in all fairness to furuno, these are 5 years old but even the 5 year old
garmins were far superior. And don't freeze or reboot for no reason....
