T&T: Registration - Florida or elswhere - how big is the issue?

Annual registration of a 46' pleasure vessel in FL is about $110 to $165 a 
year, depending on the county.  Some counties charge a 50% add-on tax, some 
don't.  If the boat is over 30 years old, it may qualify for "antique" 
status,  and registration drops to $5 a year, but I think this is available 
only for Florida residents.

Many out-of-state owners worry that they might get tapped for sales or use 
tax on the value of their boat, 6-7%, depending, again, on which county. 
This fear makes it a bigger deal than just the cost of registration.
