There is a great site for small machines:
http://www.logicsupply.com/
I have been coveting some of their stuff for several years now. One of their
foci is toward the automobile computer (and hence good sound) and have a
line of computer power supplies that are designed for the loads put on the
line by the starter motor.

They have both fanless and air cooled systems, either already constructed or
in essentially kit form.

On the other hand. As I have written before, I like the Dell Optiplex Small
Form Factor machine mounted under the brow. The Dell has sold several
million of their Optiplex machines to business and used machines or parts
are readily available. I will have to admit, the nav computer did die on me
4 years ago. It was a (at that time) 5 year old GX150 that I didn't take in
during the winter in Wilmington, NC. The motherboard froze. I replaced the
motherboard with one from a GX100 and sofar its done fine. I bring another
SFF desktop and a laptop with me but haven't had to use either as a
replacement.
