T&T: Refer exhaust Fans

Hello all:

(snip)
We just added and exhaust
fan, and not just one that circulates air, in the cabinet where the fridge
resides. With a circulating fan all you are doing is circulating the hot air.

Last year, I was trying to get the my
Norcool (110 VAC / 12 VDC) box to cool better.
Freezer stays at -10 F and food stays at 45 - 50 F.
I too installed a circulating fan inside the food section,
but with little improvement in temp drop.
When looking to install fan on louvers of cabinet that
refer fits, to exhaust heat from behind refer unit.
All fans were 12 VDC and the connections from
thermostat and/or Norcools 2 factory fans are 24 VDC
Called Norcool and they would not tell me anything
because I was not Factory service approved.

Questions:
1- What type/ make/ voltage fan did you use
2- Where did you connect to refer unit
3- Did you use a separate thermostat for the fan only
or does fan run full time or just runs when refer runs
4- Any thing else

Thanks in advance
