This device is occasionaly seen on New England lobster boats. Snagging lobster
trap lines is a regular experience in NE waters, and the fishermen themselves
are often victims. They will also fashion "prop cages" to divert line.
Obviously they distain the use of Spurs, or any type of shaft mounted line
cutter, on their boats or pleasure craft.
