T&T: anchoring vs existing mooring

Although it has barely been mentioned in passing , it seems to me the real
concern should be is this unknown mooring adequate for my boat? This
could become a safety issue.

I know several people who placed mooring balls in front of their cottage
for their 'commuter' boat.
Typically something in the 20 - 26 foot size. Even in clear water the
anchor may be sunk in mud so you are unable to see how large it is.

Should a squall come up overnight you will drag a light mooring anchor.

So permission or not, why run the risk by not asking if that particular
mooring is suitable for a boat of your displacement.
