I found this at Harbor Freight. Seems like a possible solution. I have looked at them as I have room for such a device off my main. Would have to figure out the correct pulley combinations to get desired shaft rpm. I think a clutch pulley might be very beneficial (moreso than simply an electrical disconnect) as it would reduce engine load when not in service.

I would think a generator head tach would also be a good idea but not sure how that would be rigged.
