'Lo All,
First, I do not subscribe to Passagemaker. I do have free
subscriptions to numerous other boating publications. One of the
perils of receiving these pubs is having your wife/admiral/co-owner
look at them and say, "Hey, do you think you could modify the boat to
include something like this (pointing to something beautifully
installed on a pristine mega-yacht)....."
I must admit that a couple of ideas from this type of publication;
however, greatly modified and simplified, were included in our old
sailboat, the interior of which I built. The Celestial, fortunately,
has not leant itself too readily to the "ideas" fostered by the
magazines I now receive - or is it that in my old age, my resistance
to change and less ambition and energy has precluded adding some of
the neat ideas?
I enjoy looking at the pictures and selectively reading the articles
as time permits. It is like the current crop of TV shows. Some are
OK, some, like the 'reality' shows, I think are not worth looking
at....but someone must like them as they seem to persist. Different
strokes for different folks, as they say. How many people watch the
'reality' shows? How many of those same folks would ever conceive of
doing those types on antics? Same with some of these magazines.
Often, it is just entertainment - not 'reality'.
My penny's worth (not worth 2 cents, due to inflation).
Take care and be safe.
