T&T: replace wire rope with synthetic

Had the occasion to raise and lower the dink with the windlass over the 
weekend. Went well but I don't like the wire rope. It has a memory and with 
the least little tension removed, it tries to spring out of the hoist 
pulley. I also don't like the idea of it breaking under a load and taking 
part of me with it.

I was looking a Amsteel blue on a 4x4 site and it looks good. Anyone had 
experience with the stuff. Looks like a nightmare to splice fittings on to 
it. Any thoughts?
