T&T: defouling gear

I've done lobster pot diving with TowBoat US on the Penobscot Bay for  
the last few years.  It's one of my most fun things to do.  I carry  
multiple tanks and a full set of diving gear on my trawler but I've  
never picked up anything in aCappella in the last 6+ years.  If it  
happened, I'd definitely dive on my boat unless there were alligators  
in the area!

After diving on a fair number of boats of all different types, I would  
caution against using a knife.  A small handheld hacksaw blade  
instrument is much quicker and safer and does an excellent job of  
cutting through the line, especially when it's fused together in a big  
mess on a shaft.
