This was in the Rochester paper today. Just wanted to let folks know so they
can plan accordingly.
"The canal will close between Lock E-28B in Newark and Lock E-29 in Macedon at
7 a.m. Monday. The 10-mile stretch of the canal is expected to remain closed
for several days.
The water level in this part of the canal will gradually drop by about five
feet, beginning at 10 p.m. on Sunday. The process takes 24 hours.
Boaters worried about the reduced depth should move their vessels east, past
Lock E-28B, before 10 p.m. Sunday."
Take care,
