I have had steel boat for 10 years and have used Ospho ( so , so) and now occassionally use Coroseal (sp) which is much better.   Probelm is all of these are waterbased and are just okay.

You have to grind down the BARE metal, First get rid of all the scale with a hammer or  needle gun then grind to bare metal and prime with something like Devoe/Ameron primer.  Anyhting else is a waste of time. The convertors just don't do it..
