Just back from nine nights cruise, on the hook every night with new Manson
Supreme. Pretty much PNW mud sand gravel bottom everywhere, pretty easy
hooking.
The Manson grabbed immediately every time, and pulled out clean using the
'rock slide' almost every time. (I pulled up a little bottom once after a
strong wind all night.)
Mostly it came up clean. Downside of the slide is it does not want to right
itself quite so vigorously as it comes into the anchor slide, as it did
using the normal shackle hole (only did this once).
Most nights I was in a reversing current situation although most nights also
had a prevailing wind which changes things. No hint at all that the Manson
either rolled out or if it did failed to immediatly re-hook.
So the 'downside' of the Rocna and Manson Supreme: bringing up the bottom,
does not seem to apply to the Manson at least if you use the slide.
BTW the pull out is quite dramatic, you can hear the shackle slide from the
bow. I did not see the need for a anchor wash system.
Off tomorrow for some more cruiseing, enjoy the summer everyone.
Richard
