T&T: Inserting Strainer Basket Perko Intakes

We too have this problem.
Don't know for sure if this applies to all Perko strainers or not, but some of
them have a little stud on the bottom plate that mates into a hole in the
bottom of the basket. As you can guess, the basket must fit over this stud,
and seat down on it, or the basket sticks up.
We just wiggle it around until it seats. However, if there is an accumulation
of solids in the bottom of the strainer, and the basket is removed, the solids
can migrate into the area that the basket seats, and this to can keep the
basket from seating properly. This requires that the strain be cleaned out,
but fortunately this is woman's work! (All you girls, please smile.)
