T&T: New Sat Phone Service

Hi all:

 

The first article describes a new voice/data wireless service that will
shortly be deployed.  The satellite launched yesterday.  The second link is
the company web site.  It has a spec sheet for the phone.

It is a geostationary satellite unlike the previous LEO systems so the
footprint will be limited to North America (not Mexico) and part of the
Caribbean.  The phone is a sat phone, WCDMA terrestrial and a GSM
terrestrial.  Looks neat-nothing stated on the cost of service.
