I have some insight, and a suggestion:
>From a surveyor contact - if you want to know if the engine room air inlets
are sized correctly, open a hatch under power and see if the engine speed
changes. Indicates they are starved of air if it does.
I have covers for my engine room inlets to keep cold air out during the
winters. I experimented by leaving them in and using the ~300 cfm, 50 watt
110vac exhaust blower (I also have a 12vdc one) to purge the engine room, so
it draws air from the cabin via the air passages behind cabinets, under
drawers, under the aft bed, etc. Keeps the engine room warm and vents out
'mechanical' smells. Pulls cold air into the cabin, but that happens anyway
and cuts down on stale air.

If blowers are needed to feed the engines, they all said the same thing-
the intakes are not big enough. They also said that if they were to suggest
blowers blowing into the engine room, it was a poor second choice, usually
when the owner refused to, or could not enlarge the intakes.
