Having installed my own fuel filter system and I used YELLOW ( fuel proof )
Teflon tape.
It exists but frankly it is junk.
Oil company owner /friend
of mine says his guys use exclusively the Black Paste found in a can with
brush ( just like plumber's paste) that is fuel proof. Utility Wonder
products -- Joiunt Seal #6 is what the can says. I got it a my local
Aubuchon's. It says clearly on the can for fuel, propane, gas, water etc.
Home Depot and others carry various brands and there is even a Blue colored(
paste) brand. Go to an HD or an auto parts store and ask for fuel proof
paste it works great.
By the way if you are installing flare nuts on copper
pipe, make sure to tighten them wth the special open end flare nut taper
wrench ( Craftsman and others) not a standard pair of box/open enders. The
latter will crush the pipe and it will ( I can guarnatee) leak.
