That depends on whether
"strong" means increased rigidity.  In that case, failures have resulted when
something that needs to have some flex does not flex.  The problem with
typical overbuilding is that it results in unecessary costs and increased fuel
consumption.  These both being a direct result of using more material than
required.

I prefer engineered and built to and for the intended use.
