T&T: KVH C3 and Direct TV DVR

My apologies for not being specific enough with my previous post with 
the subject "Direct TV DVR".

I have just installed a KVH C3 antenna on my boat.  I would like to 
get a Direct TV DVR to connect to it but I am getting conflicting 
information.  KVH says they do not know if the DVRs will work with 
their antennas.  Some people say that a Direct TV DVR must be 
connected to a land phone line and some say that it does not.

So, if any of you have a C3 and a Direct TV DVR or know any more than 
I do, please respond.
