T&T: Bahamas Cell Phone $30

I wanted to pass on that unlocked dual-band GSM cell phones compatible with
850/1900 frequencies work in the Bahamas...and they are now cheap. For
example, see here:

When you get to the Bahamas, go to any BATELCO office, buy a SIM card ($15,
I think), load it with minutes, put it in the phone (which they will do for
you) and you are good to go.

Minutes are not cheap, however, but better than roaming your USA phone...and
if you are a Verizon customer, you have no roaming in the Bahamas (unless
you have a new "international" phone).

Disclaimer: My experience is limited to the Abacos...and don't blame me if
the Bahamians change their minds tomorrow!

PS: the free Mobal card is expensive...
